Ticket Release Options
By default, a ticket type is available immediately after it has been created and made active. However, there are several ways to limit its availability:
- On Sale At Specific Date & Time: Start selling the ticket type at a certain date and time
- On Sale When Other Ticket Type Sells Out: Start selling this ticket only after another ticket type has sold out (example: price tiers based on quantity)
- Ticket Type Access Code: Making a ticket type hidden on the page until an access code is entered (learn more)
Both On Sale At Specific Date & Time and On Sale When Other Ticket Type Sells Out are enabled and set on each individual ticket type. Access codes are managed separately from individual ticket types.
If you're looking to learn more about general visibility options, check out Ticket Type Visibility & Sales Availability.
On Sale At Specific Date & Time
- When editing a specific ticket type, scroll down to On Sale Settings
- Select On Specific Date & Time and set the date/time when the ticket should go on sale
- Choose if you'd like to show or hide this ticket type before it goes on sale using the Before Sale Visibility Settings
On Sale When Other Ticket Type Sells Out
To create a ticket type that only becomes available to customers after another ticket type has sold out, you will set your On Sale Settings to When Other Ticket Sells Out when editing an individual ticket type. Example: As soon as the Early Bird tier sells out, immediately start selling General Admission tickets.
- When editing a specific ticket type, scroll down to On Sale Settings
- Select When Other Ticket Sells Out and choose which ticket ticket needs to sell out to trigger this ticket to go on sale
- Choose if you'd like to show or hide this ticket type before it goes on sale using the Before Sale Visibility Settings
