Ticket Type Visibility & Sales Availability

Ticket type visibility and sales availability are controlled on each individual ticket type. At a high level, ticket visibility determines if the ticket is on sale or off sale and sales availability controls where a ticket should be selling.

If you'd like to turn off tickets or sales for your entire event, learn more about Ticket Settings.

Ticket Visibility

When editing an individual ticket type, you have the option to change its Ticket Visibility & Status. The options are:

  • Active - On Sale: The ticket type is active and is either on sale, has the ability to go on sale, or potentially sold out
  • Inactive - Not on sale and hidden: Disables the ticket type and will not show the ticket type on the public tickets page
  • Inactive - Not on but display custom message: The ticket is not available for sale, but can show on the tickets page with a custom message like Sold Out, Not Available, Coming Soon, etc

*Note: Access Codes can password protect individual ticket types. Once the code is entered on the tickets page, the ticket type will be revealed. Learn more about ticket access codes

You also have the control to determine the how tickets go on sale and if they should be shown prior to being available and how tickets can go off sale and if they should be shown when sales are over.

On Sale Settings & Visibility

There are a few different ways tickets can start selling: On a Specific Date & Time and When Other Ticket Sells Out. Additionally, select if your ticket show show or hide prior to going on sale. For more information, check out Ticket Release Options

End Sale Visibility

Similar to determining how a ticket goes on sale, you can also control when it stops selling and if it should be shown. There are a few different options to end sales: Event Start, Event End, At Specific Date & Time.

  • Event Start: Ticket type stops selling when the event begins at its start time
  • Event End: Ticket type stops selling at the end of the event end time
  • At Specific Date & Time: Ticket type stops selling at a specific date and time

*Note: Tickets will automatically end sale if they become sold out. Use the After Sale Visibility Settings to determine if your ticket should be shown or hidden when it stops selling.

Sales Availability

Sales availability determines where a ticket should be selling. Typically, most ticket types are available both online and at the box office, but it's also common to have specific box office only ticket types. Use the Sales availability setting to finer control where ticket types display.

  • Everywhere - Online and Box Office: Allows this ticket type to be displayed and sold on both the public online tickets page, the web based box office, and mobile box office app
  • Online Only: Only displays this ticket type on the public online tickets page
  • Box Office Only: Only displays this ticket type on the web based box office and mobile box office app
