Using the RTE (Rich Text Editor)

Events typically look and sell better when they include details, and a bit of creativity.  The Rich Text Editor (RTE) allows you to add your own flair and style to the event details and descriptions, with functionality so flexible it gives professional results to both experts and novices.

RTE's are the settings that allow you to customize the text formatting in a custom text field. Example:

Tricks to using the Rich Text Editor:

  • (*Highly Recommended*) Clear Text Formatting: Copying and pasting information is a fast and easy way to transfer content from websites and sources to your event. But remember, copying and pasting content comes a lot of extra (and usually unneeded) formatting.  A good initial step after pasting in content is to remove the formatting. To remove formatting, highlight your pasted content, and then select "Format" > "Clear Formatting":

  • Customize Font Size, Color, and Style: You can modify fonts easily with the RTE. Simply select “Font Size” to edit size, “Font Family” to edit style, and more. Do keep in mind that when you choose a theme, text without custom formatting will automatically be updated to a size and style that best fit with the theme - making your job even easier.  If you do choose to override the default formatting, your custom settings will override the default formatting on any theme you choose.
  • Insert an Image: Create stunning header images, or add pictures to help highlight your event details. Click on the picture frame in the right corner, or “Insert > Insert Image”.

From there you can choose to upload a new image, insert an image from a URL, or get one from your library of pictures you have already uploaded for this event. Remember images need to be 300KB or less. Select 'Insert Image' after uploading.

PRO TIP: To make an image responsive on all devices, type in “img-responsive” in the “Classes” section.

  • Insert a Horizontal Line Break: A great way to help break up sections is to add a line.  To do this click on “Insert” and then “Horizontal Line”.
  • Use Formats: Easily set Titles and Headers apart, and keep their styling similar, using Formats.  Click "Format" > "Formats" and select your preferred styles.
  • Add in Your Own Code: Know a little something about code?  You can edit and write your own code for the sections by clicking on "Tools > Source Code".
