Affiliate & Tracking Links
Affiliate links can be created, managed, and easily tracked in one consolidated dashboard. Affiliate codes and links are used to track sales of specific marketing campaigns and can be combined with promo code and access codes to increase conversions.
Creating Affiliate Links & Tracking Codes
To create and manage affiliate links, head to the Marketing & Promotion tab and click Affiliate Tracking Links. Click Create Link and enter your code. Your new tracking code will now appear on the page.
You can delete affiliate links by clicking the icon in the delete column. Affiliate links can only be deleted if they have not recorded any clicks or sales.
Copying Links & Link Add Ons
To copy a link, select the Copy button. A modal will load with two different options: Event Link or Tickets Link. Click the Copy button to copy the link to your clipboard.
- Event Link: Links to the event details page before the ticketing page
- Tickets Link: Links to the tickets page directly, bypassing the event details page.
- Link Add Ons - Promo Codes & Access Codes: Add on a promo code or access code which will pre-populate the promo code field and automatically unlock access code protected tickets.
Understanding Code Usage & Reporting
Tracking links track the number of tickets sold, number of times a link has been uniquely clicked* and the net sales generated through the use of the code.
- Tickets Sold: The total number of tickets sold when this code was used. Refunds are not reflected in this total.
- Clicks: The number of unique times a user clicks a link. If you use the event link, only 1 click is counted for reaching the event page and then the tickets page.
- Sales: The net sales generated using this affiliate code. Only paid ticket price(s) are reflected and additional fees are excluded. Refunds are not reflected in this total.
*Note: Affiliate codes manually created using the ?aff=[code-name] format do not support click tracking. See below for more information.
Simple Affiliate Links / Non-Tracking Links
Previously, affiliate links were created and used by adding ?aff=[code-name] to the end of a URL. These 'simple' affiliate codes are still supported and appear in reporting but do not track clicks. Only links generated on the affiliate link page track clicks.
If you've used these simple affiliate links in the past, 'Not Tracked' will be listed under the Clicks column.
Download Affiliate Report
To download a report of affiliate code usage, head to Dashboards & Reports and then Downloadable Reports. Download a report of affiliate data by clicking on Affiliate Code Totals.
Promoter Affiliate Reporting
In addition to custom event links, if you have promoters using promoter-specific tracking links, all their reporting will be displayed on the affiliate links page. This allows a single source of information regarding affiliate usage for your event.
