Fees Overview

This article discusses the various fees that a customer could pay when purchasing tickets, as well as how to customize them for your event. Fee options can be found on your event by clicking Edit Tickets and Merch from the event menu, and then selecting Ticket Fees.

This article includes:

Service Fees

Service fee settings can be set for all tickets on your event or for individual ticket types. To customize service fees for a specific ticket type, click the name of that ticket type at the top of the Ticket Fees page. If you don't see the option to customize service fees by ticket type, please reach out to your account rep for assistance.

You can customize the general service fee settings including pass along options on the Ticket Fees page.

Custom Line Item Fees

If you want to charge an additional fee, you can set it up as a custom line item fee by selecting Add a Line Item Fee. Custom line item fees can be applied as percentage or as a flat amount per order or per ticket.

Custom line item fees can be applied to all ticket types, or you can choose which ticket types should incur an additional fee.

To customize the ticket types that your fee applies to, select Apply to ticket type: Apply individually to selected ticket types, then choose which ticket types you would like your fee to apply to. The service fee percentage amount and flat amount can also be customized per ticket type from this menu.

Processing Fees

All orders are charged a credit card processing fee to cover the cost of processing the customer's payment. You can customize whether processing fees are passed along to and paid by the customer, and whether processing fees are bundled together with service fees so the customer only sees one fee upon checkout.

Taxes

Tax settings allow you to charge sales tax per order and at what rate. You can also choose if tax should be applied just to the ticket price or to the service fees incurred on the ticket as well.

IMPORTANT: Local and state requirements, amounts, and payments are the responsibility of the event event organizer. The event organizer assumes all responsibility for payment of taxes to local, state, and federal authorities and setting the correct tax rates.

Pass Along Options & Bundling Fees

Pass along options allow you to customize which fees should be passed along to and paid by the customer.

You can choose to pass along the service fee, processing fee, or both meaning that the customer will be responsible for paying these fees. You can also set specific pass along options based on how the tickets are sold (Online Sales, Backend, App).
