Gratuity

In certain cases, it might be applicable to add a gratuity option at checkout. Gratuity can be setup and enabled for specific ticket types. Most commonly, gratuity is used for pre-paid gratuity on tables at clubs or large party reservations.

Adding Gratuity to Ticket Types

When you're creating or editing ticket types, turn on the Add Gratuity setting in Advanced Settings on the specific ticket type and configure your gratuity options:

  • Gratuity Title: The name of the gratuity that will appear at checkout (usually just gratuity)
  • Gratuity Options: The different preset percent options you'd like to offer to attendees at checkout (example: 15%, 18%, 20%)
  • Allow Zero Gratuity: Turn on this setting if you don't want to force the customer to choose a gratuity option at checkout
  • Allow Custom Gratuity: Turn on this setting if you'd like customers to enter a custom gratuity different than the preset options

Creating & Deleting Gratuity Options

  • To create new gratuity options, enter the percentage you'd like to offer and press Add
  • To delete a gratuity option, hover over the option you want to remove and press the x

Customers will now have the option to choose gratuity at checkout. For each ticket type they choose that has enabled gratuity, they will make their selections at checkout.

A few important details to keep in mind:

  • If gratuity is enabled, customers will be forced to select an option at checkout unless you enabled the Allow Zero Gratuity option
  • If custom gratuity is enabled, $1 is the minimum amount a customer can specify
  • Service fees and processing fees are charged on gratuity
  • Gratuity must be created and edited on specific ticket types – you cannot create general gratuity for an entire event
Note: Don't see the gratuity option in your ticket type advanced settings? Contact your account representative.
