Linked Parent/Child Tickets

Linked tickets are a specific type of ticket that can only be purchased once a designated parent ticket is selected. For example, if you have a "Child Admission" ticket type that requires the purchase of at least one "Adult Admission" ticket type, you can enforce this requirement before the child ticket becomes available for selection. Linked tickets are a great choice for family tickets, as well as for events that offer add-ons as separate ticket types. This article covers:

Note: Linked tickets are not compatible with timed entry events.

Setting up Linked Ticket Types

To set up a linked ticket type, first create a ticket type to use as the parent. All ticket types are automatically available to use as a parent, so no specific settings are required.

Next, create an additional ticket type to use as the linked ticket. To specify that it's a linked ticket, scroll down to "Show Advanced Settings" and enable "This is a Linked (Child) Ticket Type)". Then, for each ticket that should unlock the linked ticket type, select "Use as Parent."

The "Max Children Per Linked Parent" setting specifies how many linked tickets can be purchased for each parent ticket. For example, if this is set to 3 and you purchase 2 parent tickets, you can purchase up to 6 child tickets.

How Linked Ticket Types Display

On the tickets page, linked ticket types are not selectable until the parent ticket type is chosen.

After selecting a parent ticket type, you can choose up to the allowed amount of linked tickets.

If the parent ticket type is removed from the order, the associated linked tickets are automatically removed as well.
