Tap to Pay on iOS

On eligible iPhones, you can accept payments via Tap to Pay rather than using an external card reader. Tap to Pay requires an iPhone XS or later running iOS 16 or later, and is currently only available in the US. This article covers:

Using Tap to Pay

To connect to Tap to Pay, open the Box Office tab and click the reader icon in the top right. Then, select "Use this iPhone" and confirm that you'd like to enable Tap to Pay.



The first time you connect, you'll be prompted to link your Apple ID. The Apple ID is only used for verification purposes, and the payments will be received by the connected Stripe account as usual.


After the reader has been connected, add items to the cart and select credit as a payment option. The Tap to Pay menu will be automatically opened, and any contactless payment method can be accepted.




FAQ


Why don't I see the "Use this iPhone" button to connect to Tap to Pay?

The option to connect to Tap to Pay will only be available on iPhones XS or later running iOS 16 or later. Tap to Pay is not currently available on iPad.


What payment methods can I accept with Tap to Pay?

You can accept any contactless credit or debit cards, as well as digital wallet payments like Apple Pay.
