Sessions Style Event
Sessions Events
*Please note - reporting for sessions events is only available per event date/child event. Reporting is not available for the entire event series in one report.
- Create your “Parent Event” with desired event details. Make sure not to create any ticket types on this Parent event. Ensure this event is dated from the first date of the event to the last day of the event. I.e If the event is September through December, make the event date for the Parent event 9/01/2023 - 12/31/2023
- On the parent event, navigate to Event Settings > More > Additional Settings > Enable “This event has sessions”
This allows this event to be a parent event of a group of sessions. This setting will only be enabled on this one Parent event.
From here, you are able to add the session group name for the events. This can be customized to your preference. You can also customize the session button text to reflect your desired verbiage such as “Choose Your Date” or “Choose Your Reservation” for example.
- You can now create your first Child event for the first date of your event. You should create your ticket types on this first child event. Once created, you will be able to add the child event to the Session Group. For all Child events, you will ensure “This event has sessions” is DISABLED. You will simply add the child event to the Session Group you created on the parent event. Once added to the session group, the date will appear on the Calendar Selection tool on the event in yellow.
Example -
- Finally, you can duplicate your first Child event out for every needed date and the settings will carry over so that each child event is part of the desired Session group and shows on the Calendar as expected.
- Once all your child events are created, you can make the events live via Event Settings > Publish Settings > Publish & Set Live Now

Pros
- Calendar selection tool
- Sell tickets to different dates and times on one Parent event
- On the event listings page, you can just have your Parent event visible and send out that link so ticket buyers can choose their desired date and time, instead of many individual event links to send out
Cons
- Reporting needs to be done per child event, there is not one report on the parent event that includes all individual child event attendee data
- No ability to change tickets to a different date, the customer will need to repurchase and then their original order can be refunded
Use Cases
- Sports watch parties
- Multi-Day events across a period of time
- Movie showings
- Holiday events
- Tours
- Recurring weekly events
